Former Residence of Lu Xun

Gallery of LuXun’s lifetime:

the bulding is of a joint design of both the eastern and western styles.
The house plaque was written by Mr. Moruo Guo.
The whole building is plainfully magnificent. His great life time is vivified by lots of his objects such as photos, manuscripts, letters, models, books and magazines.

They are exhibited in the line of the development of his thoughts.
The exhibition majors in his childhood and activities during the Xinhai Revolution。 We can learn from it that his birth place means a great deal to his revolutionary activities.

			Lu Xun (1881-1936): whose birth name was Shuren Zhou, was a famous modern litterateur,thinker and revolutionary as well.Memorials to him in Shaoxing are gallery of his lifetime, former residence, ancestral home, Baicao Garden, schooling house and Sanwei Schooling House. They are now listed in the state preservation.


	Baicao Garden:

	located in the vegetable garden behind Luxun’s former residence, it was his paradise during his boyhood. Now it is still well preserved, and most of its features are not changed. The mud wall has remained as it used to be.




	Sanwei Schooling house:

	it lies east to the gallery. Luckily enough, its surroundings, layout and even furnishings are still intact. Even the desk LuXun once used as a child still stands in the corner. On the upper left of the top is a character ‘早’, carved by LuXun, which means early.
